[[AUGH! Evil movie-only people. Merry never sang in ROTK- aside from the drinking song - you must mean Pippin. Sam sang in the book! Here it is...
In western lands beneath the Sun
the flowers may rise in Spring,
the trees may bud, the waters run,

Or there maybe 'tis cloudless night
and swaying beeches bear
The Elven-stars as jewels white
amid their branching hair.
Though here at journey's end I lie
in darkness buried deep,
beyond all towers strong and high,
beyond all mountains steep,
above all shadows rides the Sun
and stars forever dwell:
I will not say the Day is done,
nor bid the Stars farewell.
And, err... there was something else.... Maybe Eomer's li'l songlet? *hugs songlet*

I came singing in the sun, sword unsheathing
To hope's end I rode, and to heart's breaking
Now for wrath! Now for ruin! And a red nightfall!

Elily danced more, imagination now taking over. She was no longer in the spacious dancing hall.
She was on stage. She was wearing a glittery, fancy dress that worked well with her petite frame. There were people sitting all around the stage, all watching. There was not a single sound, except for the flowing music and the light pitter-pattering of her feet as she jumped a little and landed with a twirl. She could feel the sad music flowing in her veins, and her expression mirrored the song's theme.
As the song neared to an end, Elily closed her eyes, did a mild finishing move, and gently dropped her arms to her sides. When she reopened her eyes, she was back in the dancing hall once more.

Iaran clapped at Elily's performance. The small group of dancers were taking turns to dance to a song of their choice. "Very good Elily. A nice opening, and you used some very difficult moves. It looked brilliant."

Aquila sang along with the rest of the class. They had all introduced themselves and now they were singing Vanessa Calrton's 'One Thousand Miles'.

Through the crowd

They were only singing the first verse, and not many people knew the song. However Aquila had been taught this song, and it was one of her favourites. So she sang loudly and clearly in her sweet voice.
((Sorry for choosing the song, but no-one seemed to notice my posts about what type of songs we should sing. I don't mind it being modern, just not R'n'B or anything too Rock/Gothic... something we can sing too, and that sounds decent. I can find lyrics, but only if you give me song names/song artist. If none of you pick, I shall....))

Elily curtised, smiling, before retreating to a chair nearby to rest. She took a few deep breaths, trying to restore her heart beat to a normal rate. That was a fairly good start to her first lesson, though she couldn't get overconfident with herself just yet.
