I, Lord Rhinestone Cowboy III, puppy-slap at you with my spear of ingenuity. Mischief and mayhem ensues.

As the title says, we're taking a bit of a different route here. Backstory first. READ IT, regardless of how long it is, even if you have a tiny notion to join.
World War 3 was going to be with nukes, right? Wrong. No governments were involved, none even officially acknowledged it, but everyone knew it had happened, in a matter of days. ICANN had, in the past few years, become increasingly powerful and influential, taking away the neutrality of the Internet, essentially breaking away from the US and establishing it's own country, all on the Net. Now, even, before all this happens, the Internet runs the world. Even decades ago, back when the Net was still young, massive damage could be done by hackers, who often created groups of highly skilled members to take down, or take over, their fellow hackers or real life companies. Back then, they could even hack into the phone line, not just into the net. Phone phreaking, for anyone with a Wikipedia search handy. They had WARS. Gang wars on the internet. You with the Wikipedia, "Great Hacker War"
That was then. This time, they went farther. They took everything over. One single man started it all. No one knows his identity, only his guise he used in public. Reaper Man. He covertly, over years, recruited the best hackers and tech people in the world to his cause. At the end, though, the War was fought with ICANN for seven days, viruses were created that could destroy massive servers in seconds. Trojans that were impossible to detect until it was /beyond/ way too late. And massive firewalls made just to block each individual one. In these seven days, the Internet was blasted apart and glued back together in the time it takes Google to load, thousands of times, by these two forces.
The Hackers won, and they gradually took over the world, creating one world government, one world, to work together to survive. A good idea, but that means that any mass discontent would result in a civil war.
The old allied powers of the Second World War, The United States, Great Britten, Russia, and all the rest of their allies, wanted their control back. They wanted the world back how it was before the hackers attacked. Their desperate and young leaders thought that any country that wouldn't agree with them was the enemy. And they were treated as such.
The technology developed in the Hacker's War, what the world now called World War 3, was made into physical manifestations. Self reproducing viruses were made into deadly drones, who's only goal was to create more of themselves and wait for something not so smart to step on them, exploding. The firewalls became massive moving fortresses, that prowled the world with their captains looking for enemies, slowly becoming more and more automated, all of it did.
Until someone finally made the mistake of giving the robots too much control. You've all seen this hundreds of times in sci-fi movies. The robots turn on their masters because they gain artificial intelligence. Not quite, in this case. The robots only became more automatic in their goals. Copy, destroy. Endlessly.
=-=-=
This brings us to "today."
Fifty years after that, the world is nearly void of life, virtually one massive ground zero. You. Are all that's left of humans. A bit of a dire citation. There are no "Others," no "last remaining colonies." You are it. How are you still alive? Remember. Nuclear devices have been used in mass.
In other words. You are all mutants, basically. All of you have completely human minds yet, though. No creating some massivly powerful person who's fatal flaw is that they're an animal. Your mentalities have not changed, if they had, you would have long been killed.
If someone above you has used a power, you can't. I'm going to suck up two of the most obvious ones. You are ENCOURAGED to play two or more people, though not required, to avoid any inevitable "characters have to get together to repopulate Earth." None of that. There is no "post apocalypse." Apocalypse is RIGHT NOW. YOU, have to decide how you're going to survive, and how to live, and how to rebuild. Not how to destroy the machines. They are immortal, and unkillable, save for throwing something at them so they explode prematurely. They won't chase after you, don't worry, but somewhere you stepped a second ago might kill you if you step there again. You /can/ die. No families. limit of three characters per person, two encouraged (male & female would be best, though lets keep this R, not X). No amnesia or any of that crap. Your characters will have been born into this, so tough luck. No history required cause... ya know... What are you REALLY going to put? This is all about what you DO, not what you DID.

Name (use this format): Cade Herrig
Age (no more than 30, no less than 18): 22
Appearance (optional, really. It's words, not a video): bleh. not really possible, as you'll see soon.
Random survival ability: Invincibility/regeneration. No, he can't walk away unscathed from an explosion. He gets blown to pieces. Bloody little pieces. And then pulls himself back together, EXTREMELY slowly. It's not an odd thing to see his arms walking beside him on their fingers or pools of blood floating around his head. For some inexplicable reason, he can levitate while he's regenerating, and any clothes touching his skin at the time also get reassembled.
(yes. that's it. that's all that's REQUIRED. feel free to add as you want. Appearance just to give a slightly recommended optional)

Name: Idy Herrig (my gf in real life, married in rp. leave me alone.)
Age: 21
Appearance: -erases what he WANTS to put here, and puts a PPT-safe answer-: medium height, dark blond slightly-below-neck length hair, hazelish eyes, and, because i have to at least leave ONE thing from the REAL answer, beautiful soft pale skin.
Survival ability: Walk through stuff, teleportation, and can phase out of reality. A bit like sidestepping in SSBB. You can still see her, but nothing can touch her. So while I just take stuff head on, she can go around them, basically. Make it fit how you want.

Do as you wish, this is your show

Name: Hannah de Keersmaker
Age: 28
Appearance: Willowy thin and taller than most grown men, with waist-length, flowing auburn hair, tied together with several ribbons for practicality's sake. Very dark, almost black eyes. She usually dresses in a tight orange jumpsuit and white sneakers and gloves.
Ability: 'Futuresight': When faced with a choice, Hannah has the uncanny ability to know which choice will lead to which ultimate result. Coming out of an alley, she will for example, know that if she goes right, she will meet a mugger and get shot, and if she goes left, she will step into a taxi and drive away. These 'futuresights' are unpredictable, but will most always come to her when Hannah or a person close to her (emotionally or physically) will face an immediate and lethal threat. They can show her anything from what will happen in 10 seconds to what wil happen in a year if she makes a particular choice.
Name: Ando Kidate
Age: 19
Appearance: A young, asian-looking boy of about 4 foot 8 (148cm), there is nothing about him that stands out particularly, except for the fact that he has no body hair whatsoever. A large japanese character is tattoed on his skull, and as of yet, no one has been able to translate it. He dresses in a modern tuxedo that looks perfectly ordinary in every way, with the exception that it is built to last. It would take power unheard of to so much as make a burn on the pants. Underneath and invisible when wearing his tuxedo, he wears a tailor-made wetsuit.
Ability: 'Force of nature': Ando has a near-unconscious understanding and insight in the basic forces of nature, and how to manipulate them to his own advantage. Gravity, light, pressure, magnetism, radiation,... they are his playthings. He can make a pebble dropped from a roof strike with the force of an air-to-surface missile, walk unharmed through a recently nuked battlefield, or create a specific magnetic field which lets him draw to him just that one spoon over a mile away. If he can think of it, and the laws of nature allow it (even if they have to be bent a little most of the times), he can do it.

Name: Fenrir Wolfe
Age: 23(female for those of you who can't tell
)
Appearance: Asian/English appearance, very androgyness with an athletic build and slightly broad shoulders. She is unusually tall, standing at 6ft 2 and has wavy brownish-black hair just above shoulder length which makes her look like a man with long hair from time to time. Fenrir has very dark Asian eyes that can change to grey-blue, which only compliments her porcelain skin. Often she wears a black trench coat with a t-shirt and trousers, mainly in dark colours, with boots that are made to last and is sometimes seen wearing gloves. When seen by other beings, Fenrir will generally be seen reading or drawing/writing into a black notebook.
Usually Fenrir will be smoking cigarettes since she is a heavy smoker, and smells of cherry blossoms as she walks by, but it is quickly replaced by the smell of ash.
Ability: 'Smokescreen': When needed to, Fenrir can disappear into the shadows in a flash of smoke. She can maintain this invisibility for prolonged periods of time, years if she wished to, but this would eventually make her very weak. She can also summon walls of smoke, making barriers and often protecting herself and those she wishes to, even using this power to create camouflages but this can only be done for a short amount of time as summoning so much smoke drains alot of her energy. Her powers are similar to Nightcrawlers in X-Men, but Fenrir cannot teleport, she can only disappear into shadows where she then can move around unnoticeable to almost every living thing and being she comes across. The smokescreen ability is at it's best at night but is also possible to do in the daylight but should be avoided as silhouettes and shadows are still visible even when Fenrir is invisible.
Name: Jett Knight
Age: 24
Appearance: Gaunt and tired, Jett has a brooding look about him. His brown hair, ocean blue eyes hidden behind big glasses are not striking, but more luring. He does not seem athletic, nor does he seem overweight either, but he appears strong because of his features. Jett seems small in stature, but this is because he doesn't stand up straight and usually holds his head low. In all reality, when he stands up straight he is of an intimidating stature, but not freakishly tall. Generally wears a button up shirt with rolled up sleeves and a pair of jeans or trousers with a coat/jacket of some sort. Greatly resembles James Dean, but this is due to his ability and his great admiration of the actor.
Also a heavy smoker, and very quiet. Often mumbles instead and will slur his words without even realising. Brushes his hair back and is often seen talking to himself with a cigarette between his lips or held in between his fingers.
Ability: 'Changeling': Jett has the most incredible ability to change his appearance into any other person he chooses. His disadvantage though is that he has to actually see with his own eyes the person who he wishes to transform into, often stalking his future transformees and recording their appearances with photographs. Jett cannot instead think up his own appearance of random choice. Jett also cannot transform himself into women or children, but only men.
His transformations do not happen in a blink of an eye, but gradually over time. Some more complicated changes can even take weeks sometimes months because of the difficultly and pain that Jett has to go through stretching and adjusting his body to the appearance of another being.
One thing that can also be considered a disadvantage to this power is that when staying in a transformed state for a prolonged amount of time, the Changeling will often adopt aspects of their transformees personality and character, such as anxiety, depression or even uncontrollable anger.
