Display your creative spirit here in the Pink Poogle Toy Gallery. It can be art... it can be music... it can be a poem (even haiku)... but most of it... it must be you.

Frankly, i'd offer up to art trade myself, but i've got projects to work on for Uni, so thusly, any art from me would be months away from completion (no seriously. Months.) So yup. *gives a cookie* Just everyone do their end of the bargains and all will be well.

XD I've had that happen for a few art trades, but most of the time its okay cause I send up not doing my half myself (for the less committed ones that dont really reply to my questions that is).

Ahh.. the dreaded university midterms/projects time. Frankly, I have that problem too (midterms currently) but this is my break in between them. Your art is BEAUTIFUL (honestly, there is a lot of stunning art posted here) so if you ever are free to do an art trade, I'm always game (and yes, that includes months, considering I'm not going anywhere for a while).

Your new pic is even more beautiful and spectacular than the other ones!

I just don't want it happening with art trades here, I like to believe that people on PPT have more respect then to simply leave an art trade hanging. (I feel so guilty when things like that happen... say for example now, I owe someone art and I simply havn't had time... Bah, but she will get it in the end)

Mmm. Yes. I'm only in one art class right now, printmaking, and i'm doing a rather large litho print of a rabbit, and it's quite the hellish process. I love your art too, can I be fangirlish? No. But I can say that your style is evolving quite nicely and that it's controlled but swishy and very very good. I quite enjoy it, and i'm glad to see you posting it again.

Yeah, a lot of PPTers have high integrity/morale (at least the older ones) so I think things will be okay, with regards to the trades. And yes, I have a few people with art hanging, but mostly because I either dont hear from them or I cant think of how to complete the picture and it gets.. stuck D: I think its a problem for many artists because we like to procrastinate XD;

Wow, Im envious of your art-related classes. All my classes involve major studying and writing of essays, there really isn't any non-academic subject (then again, I'm already on my 3rd year, now is not the best time for me to change). I for one will continue my fangirl-ish ways; I have always loved your artwork, especially the tribal art! I'm also happy to hear that my art has improved since the last time I posted art here - there's still a lot for me to work on, and my art never gets less colourful, but I really appreciate feedback like yours.

I guess the only thing I can do now is practice more :P

What program are you in (if I can ask?) I'm in my BFA, and i'm stuck taking these blasted requirements for Science/Social sciences. Which means i'm not allowed to take many art classes. It sucks majorly. But at least I get to use my brain again. I've missed that. Then again, I also hate that, because i've forgotten how to study.

Thankyou, I havn't been posting much art, most of what I do now are horrible sketches in my sketchbook. The only thing that I need to do right now is a tribal jaguar for someone on PPT (whose so very patient, and understanding, and gracious, and amazing; she knows who she is). I really need to get on that too. I do like your art, your style, i'm not meant to do computer art, so anyone who can, and who can do it rather well is inspiring in my books. Do you use a tablet? Do you sketch your drawings out on paper and then scan them? Or is it all from your head onto the computer?

*curious*

Aside from that new pic being for the most evil day on the planet, it is really great. I love the Faellie with the Mysterious Valentine. It took a couple looks to catch what I was looking for, but I finally found the ribbon on the Ixi's horn. I would have been reall upset if that weren't there. Keep up the great work.

Just joining your off topic conversation about art (and art related classes)....

I do soooo much art at school! I chose both Visual Arts and Visual Design for my two electives (year 9 - 10) and so I do art for 9 periods (40 mins each period) a week!

*dances at all the arti-ness*

Except... around the time of the annual Art Exhibition all hell breaks loose as I try to complete my works from both classes in time to put up!

Anyways! Back on topic!

I think you new pic (for the evil Hallmark holiday) is sooooooo cute! Keep it up (both the art and the showing us of the art)

I'm in B(of)A with a Psychology major and East Asians minor. Sorry to sound dumb, but what is BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts?) I have a similar problem - I thought I could get away without taking any maths related courses, but I have statistics this semester and its butchering me alive T_T At least you get to take SOME arts classes? *still muchly envious* It took me a while to figure out the best way to study, basically all I do these days is print off notes, do the readings and then cram a few days before the exam. Its all very inefficient.

A sketchbook is good! I've been shirking from doing real life art, I haven't picked up a pencil to sketch something on paper properly for AGES, I've almost forgotten how a pencil feels! I think computer art is a bit harder to control, but I'm a big admirer of traditional art cause everything has to be manipulated by hand, there is no 'undo' button or 'zoom in' or anything. Yes, I use a small stylo tablet I bought for like 50 bucks. Its only 2.5x3 inches, which makes my sketches very rough because there's not a lot of room to work with. I tend to just sketch my sketches on photoshop and then do the lineart for them because scanning for me takes ages @_@

I guess we both get used to whatever way, if I picked up a pencil I think I'd feel awkward drawing it on paper as opposed to having a blank space open on my computer screen :P

Skynetmain - XDDD Am I the only person who actually likes Valentines Day? Sure, its commericalised, but its because of the over commercialism its rather funny. The couples are madly scrambling to get each other gifts, and the singles (like me) are happily miserable. Its a fun time of the year :D Oh yes, I actually messed up on the ribbon - if you check the ribbon leading up to Say (the halloween ixi's) head, it randomly disappears and then reappears as a bow on his horn. I'm too lazy to fix it now though @_@, and thanks for the feedback <3

Ria - ._. Wow you're lucky. I've only in my life taken one art course in grade 12, and it became a 'free art course' because I passed the exam and didn't have to take restricted courses (basically I was free to draw whatever I wanted and I did projects to hand in). Now that I'm in university, I dont get to draw at all academically anyway :P

I am very very envious of you though, if I could, I'd rethink my life and try to include a bit more art in it, instead of just stowing it all away on my computer. Art exhibitions have always scared me D: They always will.

And thanks about my 'Hallmark' picture, as you put it nicely XD; Sorry myself for spamming with so much artwork, I guess after so long of not drawing, I just burst with random art stuff.

Congrats on getting your V-Day pic in the Art Gallery! It is a beautiful picture :)

Tue Feb 14, 2006 2:58 am

Wow!

Your art is incredible! I can't believe this is the first time I've seen it! The Valentine's pic is just adorable. I have to say though that the maraquan gelert is my favourite of the drawings in your thread. It has an awesome flow and design to it!

I like your pirate Ixi, it's a great idea. I'm not sure if it's his pose or the details of having to shrink the original line art down, but he looks a little stiffer then your other drawings. Maybe because he's on a wooden leg! Heh!
I'd love to see how you'd handle him in another pose!

I so look forward to seeing more!

Tue Feb 14, 2006 6:09 am

Congrats on the gallery entry!! It definitely deserves to be there! :)

Thu Feb 16, 2006 5:39 am

Thank you SL and mayanspypilot about the Valentines pic <3

Marymouse - I've seen your art posted on this thread and I love your art style too - the lineart and everything is very smooth and crisp. The pirate ixi I tried to copy the Neopets concept, but it turned out as you said, very static. Ill stick to my own art then XD! (*giggles at the wooden leg comment*)

Updated, now going to work on some sort of Chocolate chia pic.. I think. I'm not even sure I have time for that T_T;

Thu Feb 16, 2006 8:33 pm

Holy crap those are gorgeous! I love them <3

Do you accept random requests? *waits hopefully*

*looks at lastest image* Now that's something I have no clue how artist do. Water effects seem pretty hard and you made it look awesome, Zoo. Shiny pretty image that is...and it seems I'm lacking words today.

...I just remembered something I forgot to do at the end of last year .

Heh. Yeah. BFA is Bachelor of Fine Arts. I had a lot of fine arts courses in my 1 and 2 years of school, and now that i've transferred i've got a lot of boring requirements to meet. But ah well. We all suffer someway or another, you're in stats... i'm in the devils theory course (cultural theory). *sighs*
Thats rather brave, sketching on a small tablet like that. I've always debated on getting a tablet, thought about it, hummed, hawed, and then just never done it. I'd use it a few times and then get bored of it. I prefer to keep my skills honed to real life art. Plus, what i'm doing now earns me money, and I'm pretty sure what i'd do on the computer would never earn me money.
You are talented though. Have you ever thought about illustration? I know there's a lot of the younger generation of writers who would like more chic smooth vectoral type images for their books. I'm sure there's a lot you could do with that if you really got out there and sold yourself too it.
