Someone apparently updated the SQL version from MySQL to MariaDB on the server. Not sure when, but likely yesterday. I had to tweak a few things to get it running smoothly again.
With the upgrade to the latest MariaDB, things should actually go faster and be a bit more stable now

Probably right after my Trudy update post, then.
