Neopets at Hamleys

On the 24th and 25th of May 2003, Adam, Donna, a handful of Neopets artists and some of the Neopets crew made their way into London to a dinky little toy store called Hamleys for the promotional launch of the latest Neopets merchandise! Also there, fans were able to have images of Neopets drawn for them, each image unique, and signed by the artists themselves! Of course, no event is complete without its advertisements, so [Click Here for the advertisement about Hamleys] to check it out ~_^

From the general gist of things, the queue at Hamleys was enormous and waits for 3-4 hours at a time were not uncommon. However everyone reported back saying that Adam, Donna and the rest of the Neopets crew were really looking after them, listening to their suggestions, showering them with gifts and just having a good time! Below is the best report sent in and reported by Katy (tinysaiyan) about her day at the Neopets promotional launch and on the subsequent pages are another 5 reports from various other users! Most of them have images of the artist’s drawings and various other scans and they have also been included in this article. A big thank you to all who have contributed, especially Katy (tinysaiyan), Blobbi_kid, ab2002ab, Clotho, 21 and aardvark for making their way down to London and reporting back to PPT.

Neopets: The Darkest Faerie: Good Game or Not? – A Long Rant by Jake

Beginning Statement

Everyone knew it would happen someday. Neopets, the popular website would come out with a console game. I had big expectations about the game, but now I’m not sure what to think anymore. That’s why I’ve assembled this rant so I can get my points across.

Neopets has indeed told there users about the new game release. It will be on the Playstation console and be released by SCEA. It’s developer is the Code Monkeys, Ltd. Though seeming like excellent choices, they aren’t.

Console Problem

This is where our first problem begins. Playstation is an almost dead console, barely ever having new games. Even though PSX was known for starting such games as Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot, the system has gone out. Why not just never make the game in the first place? If Adam and Donna could have thought about the gaming world for a simple second, they would realize a release with Game Boy Advance SP or Gamecube would have been much better and attracted a better audience.

Digimon: The Neopets Version by youngking

If you go to http://www.digimon.com, you’ll notice that they have a very similar version that belongs to them that is like this game on neopets.com, and its interesting to see how they vary. First, the main characters in the digimon.com site are Tai and Agumon, and his latter, and in Neopets there is only Terriormon, and his latter. Secondly, you can only control Terriormon in Neopets, whilst you can control both Tai and Agumon in the digimon version. Very interesting. The Neopets version to me is a lot more interesting, because there are a lot of glitches and its external flash, which I enjoy. Okay, now onto the game briefing.

Guilds and Their Members by Faith

Many people on Neopets belong to a guild. Weather it’s being a member or actually running one with councils assistance. No matter what the genre of the guild the main goal is to bring people of similar likes together. Rather like building a online community.

While the notion of a guild and it’s members being good friends, almost like family. The truth sometimes is this isn’t the case. Every guild has it’s rules and where there are rules you can find rule breakers. Some may find this issue a silly one, when after all no one can change the way things are. But guilds can end up loosing members .. friends through people’s lies, deception and unpleasant behavior.
