Shapeshifter Guide by Chibi

In a nutshell:
1) You start with a 3×3 plane.
2) Change all of the objects on the plane to swords.
3) Use the Tetris pieces you are given to change other objects into swords.
4) When all of them becomes swords at the same time, you move on to the next round.

Example – X are swords, O are goblets.
OXX
OOX
OXX
You need to change the O’s into X’s to get to the next round!

Below you have a ‘Tetris’ piece like this – H is a random letter I used.
H
HH
H
Place the vertical H on top of the O’s, and they’ll change to X’s!

But if you have this:
H
HH

You’ll be stuck with this:

XXX
XXX
OXX
You cannot change all of the O’s to X’s, therefore you must try your next piece.

Let’s say you have one stand-alone piece.
H

Your board becomes:
XXX
XXX
HXX -> XXX. Now you will move to the next level!

Note, you must use ALL of the pieces you are given before you can move on to the next round. Even if you get all swords before using all the pieces, it doesn’t count as a win. Your final move must end with all swords. You also cannot change the order in which the pieces are given to you.

At level 11, the playing field grows to a 4×3, and at 21 it becomes 4×4. At 26, they toss in a new object on the board. Now you have to go through two changes to make a sword – it also resets to the first object if you make a move on a sword. (I’ve never gotten past 26, so I can only imagine what terror lies beyond.)

You will be overwhelmed by the number of pieces later on. Break down the board and pieces on paper or in an art program with screenshots and such, then I recommend starting with the largest piece, and working toward the smaller ones – it’s easier to fill in one or two spaces rather than five or six. Also, try for boards that have repeated pieces. Since they cancel each other out, you MAY not even need to use them, just make sure you overlap them on the same spaces (this doesn’t work once you get to 26). You may want to try randomly throwing pieces on a board if you’re stuck, but watch out toward the end, because you might have a chance to win with what pieces you have left.

And that’s all you need to know about Shapeshifters! Unfortunately, the solutions aren’t as easy as the rules, but with a lot of thinking (or guessing) you just might get a win! Good luck with it and remember, there are plenty of other easier and less stressful games out there. ^_^ – Chibi neochibi45@hotmail.com
